The Miami Cowboys

Most of you are probably not watching this unfold as I am, but it is getting crazy how the Dolphins are becoming the Miami (or South Beach) Cowboys. I know Parcells likes to surround himself with familiar personnel but seriously:

Bill Parcells - former Cowboys head coach, now Dolphins VP of football operations

Jeff Ireland - former Cowboys VP of college and pro scouting, now Dolphins GM

Tony Sparano - former Cowboys offensive line coach / assistant head coach, now Dolphins head coach

Brian Gaine - former Cowboys assistant director of pro scouting, now Dolphins assistant director of player personnel

Todd Bowles - former Cowboys secondary coach, now Dolphins assistant head coach

Paul Pasqualoni - former Cowboys linebackers coach, now Dolphins defensive coordinator

Kacy Rodgers - former Cowboys defensive tackles / defensive line coach, now Dolphins defensive line coach

I say give them 2-3 years with Parcells and Ireland running the draft and the Dolphins will be contenders in what is currently the worst division in the league.

So that sets the Dolphins up for 2, maybe 3 years of above average football, with no playoff victories, then ultimately Parcells deciding to retire again?

Sorry, too soon?

That's a low blow man. You hit where it hurts. And to think I wanted Parcells for Philly. I forgot about the 'boys playoff record since 96.

I said nothing about Parcell's coaching abilities, though the Hall of Fame committee may have something to say about that. I was merely commenting on he and Jeff Ireland running the draft and how they will put together a young, solid foundation like Dallas currently has. Unlike Philly, we won't go first to worst.

What's the point of first place in the division if you let Eli Manning beat you?
