I received acceptance letters today from CMU, GA Tech, and Indiana. I'm going to spend the next few weeks deciding on where to go. Right now I'm considering CMU, GA Tech, and Michigan.
My hesitation is that CMU's program is one year long, which is awesome financially. However, this is a slight career change for me and I think I would benefit from a two-year program. That being said, I could just as easily learn on the job and start gaining real-world experience sooner (and probably secure a better job) going to CMU. If any of you guys have advice I would really appreciate it. Also, thanks again for all your help with my apps... it obviously paid off!

Congratulations dude! Among CMU, GA Tech and Michigan, how do the programs rank? Although going back to CMU might not be the most appealing idea, we do have incredible job placement and it's only a year. Financially, a year less is phenomenal. If you can compare the programs and see how they stand, that might give you more information to make a decision. Since you're using this to place yourself in a job, treat this is a business decision, maybe pros/cons of each school might help. Good luck.
Well they don't officially rank HCI programs, but if you look at performance at conferences and design contests as well as job placement most would rank the programs 1)CMU, 2)GA Tech, 3)Michigan.
Congrats Dude. I'm sure your applications were great. I agree with Ajay. At this point you know what you are doing and why. There is certainly an ROI for spending the money to get this degree, which will directly correlate to your salary. Its only a year, and if it relates to business school at all, there is a big difference from a top tier program and a middling program in the eyes of recruiters. I understand that it is a bit different, but I think the same principals apply. Cool that you have so many choices.
