Here is a list of all the Madden covers. We all know the story by now, which is about what happens to these players the year they appear on the cover of that game and subsequently. It's beyond coincidence when every one of these "curses" came to fruition...
...Which leads me to the 2009 edition with Brett Favre. So do you think the curse applies to his whole saga (and now apparently being traded) or to Aaron Rodgers who's obviously going to start mixing cocaine, alcohol, and sleeping pills nightly?

J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets!! Looks like the curse will follow Favre to the meadowlands. Hopefully the tarnishing of a legacy is as bad as it gets for Favre; I'd like to see him do well this year (read challenge the Pats? yeah right).
Aaron Rodgers would have been cursed had Favre not decided to return. The guy has no skills, and the Packers obviously aren't confident he is the future of the franchise or they wouldn't have drafted Brian Brohm. I think that cocktail you've suggested might end in much more than a curse for the guy. Damn Zhi, how hard do you guys party out there in Cali??
Am I the only one who thinks Aaron Rodgers will be decent? They drafted Brohm because they need a new backup, and insurance incase Rodgers doesn't pan out. It's not that their not confident, it's that that's what you do when you're a billion dollar franchise. You cover your ass and make sure you have a backup plan. Of course Andy Reid doesn't know how to do this, because he goes into 2007 with a guy who everybody thinks will return punts, and then cuts him 2 weeks before the season.
Is that why they also drafted Matt Flynn. You don't want an unproven rookie as your backup QB, and definitely not as your #2 AND #3. I think GB will definitely bring in a veteran after training camp and let Brohm and Flynn learn the offense before someone takes over for Rodgers down the road.
Regardless of who plays QB for the Pack they better hope Ryan Grant is all that (I'm not sold) or they have no shot at winning the division this year. The Vikings are putting together a solid team up there. With a guy live Favre throwing the deep ball to Berrian they would be pretty sick.
Flynn may as well have been undrafted. He was a 7th round pick.
Also of note, the Packers might have drafted Brohm knowing Rodgers is not going to stick around when his contract is up. Would you have any loyalty to an organization that has systematically dicked you around for 3 years?
