Onward with Chi-town planning

This is going to be a quick post. Comment up. Azim where are you with this planning shit?

We are thinking about staying at the fairmont. I would like to book the non-refundable rate (I saw a couple days ago at 118/room/night.

That is a smoking fucking deal, this hotel is top notch.
Azim is reportedly staying with his brother (lame).
So... There are 6 of us.
Should we get 3 rooms or 2.
I want to sleep in a bed. If we went with 2, 2 folks would have to sleep on a cot (I assume we would reduce their share a bit). Is anyone interested in doing that (Fu/Kanna?)
I mean 65-70/night/person isnt bad, but i know not everyone cares about that stuff.

Please respond as soon as possible.
Alex

- I would personally suggest 2 rooms of 3 people each. Yeah it kinda sucks that someone has to sleep on a cot, etc. but how is that different than sleeping on Ajay's floor? I'm just happy to hang with you guys and rather spend my money elsewhere. Also, only have 2 rooms lightens the logistics and encourages more hanging out. Perhaps we can get them on the same floor, and what not.

- Fairmont sounds good, but I'll listen to whatever you folks have to say on Chicago places.

- As for logistics of booking the room, I suggest each room nominate a person to book it, and get people to pay them back, etc. I'll volunteer to be one of them.

i would also lean more towards the 2 rooms option. Plus, if we got rooms with two doubles then everyone could sleep on a bed...

Also, the fairmont looks like an awesome hotel...well located and quite a fair price for the quality of the hotel! But, i just looked at the fairmont website and their prices seemed to have increased from before to about $130 (for two double beds and non-refundable rooms). Also, you can request rooms with a connecting door, so that should solve our problem of wanting to be close to each other.

can we hold hands in the connecting doorway. Lets do two rooms. I'm just gonna put it on my credit card so we can be together.

I've heard good things about the architectural boat tours of the city:

$36/person, any interest?

Also...

Tourist thing to do: Pay to go to the top of the Sears Tower and check out the view of the city.

Local thing to do: Go to the Signature Room at the top of the Hancock, for free. Have a drink and enjoy the same view.

Azim: Can we drink on said boat tours? I've always found architecture to be much more aesthetically pleasing when I'm tanked.

Alex: So you're getting one room, I'll get the other? What was your rate with the AAA discount? Should I ask for an adjacent room to yours, or is it in someone else's name?

If we do a cruise after 6pm, they have bar service on the boat. Otherwise, we could do the boat tour after our stuffed-pizza lunch when we will likely already be wasted.
